LAAS is a laboratory belonging to CNRS (www.laas.fr) involving around 500 Researchers.

The RF Microsystem group which will be involved in this project has ten researchers and fifteen PhD students.

LAAS is coordinating the FP6 project named AMICOM which is a NoE dedicated to RF-MEMS. One of the three main groups of activities of the AMICOM is dedicated to spreading of excellence.

The dissemination of the knowledge and communication of achievements beyond the RF MEMS specialists will be pursued through workshops, special and focused sessions organized on specific subject during the European Microwave Week.

The consortium will establish a journal, published quarterly and exclusively by electronic means, which covers area relevant to research into micro-electro-mechanical structures. A lot of information will be available through the website that will be regularly updated.

The network will organize an annual international “summer school” focused on the research area of RF MEMS, MEMS-like technologies and will focus on the dissemination of technology and research results towards the industry.

Another issue of AMICOM will be to integrate new associated States (NAS) countries through scientific joint works.
