The CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission) Grenoble leads the NanoBio regional cluster that brings together 130 people and is linked to the Minatec Innovation Center, the 1st European centre for micro- and nano-technologies. Since February 2004, the CEA successfully coordinates the first European network of excellence (NoE) in nanobiotechnology, called Nano2Life.
This 4-years NoE is designed to set up the basis of the European Institute of Nanobiotechnologies. Nano2Life will transfer its expertise and knowledge to identified target groups (scientific community, large companies and SMEs, schools and the public or other groups or institutions not integrated in Nano2Life, located either in Europe, in the NAS or in the international scene.
Transfer to NAS is managed by 6 local organisations which serve as regional relays on dissemination and communication for Nano2Life in their countries.
The generated knowledge will be made available through the conferences and publications. Nano2Life will continuously focus on, and update, its web site and internal database on available equipment, existing know-how and education offers.
Special emphasis will also be placed on external communication at the international level.
